Your dog wants to come too! It’s beach day, and that means it’s time for the whole family to enjoy some waves and sand. …You heard that right. The whole family. Pups included. Happily, more and more outdoor venues are becoming dog-friendly! And you won’t have to look far in St. Augustine, Florida to find great beaches that will welcome your furriest companions.
Located at 2725 Anathema Dr., Vilano Beach is one of St. Augustine’s most popular doggie destinations. The beach offers clean, white sand, bathroom facilities, and a place to hose off your furry friends afterward. Owners are required to keep their dogs on-leash at all times, and of course, pick up after them.
If you’re planning a picnic, Frank B. Butler County Park is an excellent choice! You’ll find restrooms, picnic tables, and two shaded pavilions. Visit this fantastic dog-friendly beach at 5860 A1A S.
Though it’s not likely the best option if you’re hoping to swim at the beach, Old Salt Park is a great spot for walking and enjoying coquina rock formations on the coast. You might even spot an occasional whale! Old Salt Park is located at 200 16th Road in Palm Coast.
If you venture out to Ponte Vedra Beach, Mickler’s Landing can be found on Ponte Vedra Blvd. A popular spot for picnickers, this beach features grilling areas, showers, and restrooms. Leashed pups are welcome on the beach, and love taking long walks in the coquina sand!
Drive right up onto the beach at Crescent Beach, located at 6930 A1A S. Enjoy a clean, well-kept beach that also allows horseback riding at designated times!
