Fort Meade Real Estate Rural beauty and historic culture

“Fort Meade is in a particularly rural part of the state. For those visiting the area who are interested in exploring all that Florida has to offer, it’d be wise to rent a car, as many attractions are outside city limits. Within a short drive of Fort Meade are a variety of state and national parks, as well as cultural, artistic, and historical attractions, and some of the state’s most scenic beaches as well.” – [thecrazytourist.com]

It is part of the Lakeland–Winter Haven Area.

Things to see:

The Hollis Garden is a small botanical garden located in Lakeland.

The Polk Theater The historic theater in Lakeland is a must see for history and cinema lovers. According to the Polk Theater’s website, “The Polk Theatre was built during a golden age in the United States – the stock market had yet to crash (though the boom had ended in Florida) and the clouds of World War II were not yet on the horizon. Even so, it was quite a leap of faith to build a vaudeville/movie palace in Lakeland in 1928. The population hovered at only 15,000 people and it was a rural community.”
